Why Use Linux?
According to Chris Oman ...
Are you still running an older computer with Windows 95, 98, ME operating system?
Or, are you tired of the Windows famous 'Blue Screen of Death,' and tired of your
your system freezing up, random reboots, and tired of paying Microsoft high dollar
amounts for an updated version of Windows and associated application programs?
If so, then how about trying something new that won't bust your bank account and will still
run on your current computer system.?
Assuming your computer system is less than eight years old
and has at least 128MB of RAM memory and a hard drive of at least 2 GB in size, then
for less than $100.00, you can get a new operating system and many included application programs
to read and create documents, spreadsheets, presentation, edit graphic images and send and retrieve
email and browse the Internet all in one single package. Of course the package includes many more
programs for games, computer programming and even comes with printed manuals, DVD and CDROM
installation disks.
If any of this is of interest to you, then come to the RASCAL Linux special
interest group (SIG) meetings
held twice a month at the RCC SBDC lecture classroom in Grants Pass at 4th &
H Streets.
If you are interested, send an email to Chris Oman at ckoman@rvi.net to get
on the contact and notification list.
