The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of Rogue Area Senior Computer Assistance League was held on April 14, 2009 at the Josephine County Fairgrounds Floral Building, Grants Pass, Oregon at 11:40 hrs. The following board members were present: President Ron Willing, Secretary Velma Gustafson, Education Director Judy Engel, Membership Director Maggie Robson, and Communications Director Galen Garretson. Members present were: Laura Dunwald, Vivian Dagnan, Lannie Harkins, Naomi Carlson, Shirley Byrd, Audrey Williams, and Joyce Daniel. Secretary's Report: Velma Gustafson reported: The minutes of the April Board Meeting were approved and placed on the RASCAL website. Also, we should be thinking about where we intend to have our August board meeting as the fairgrounds will be closed to us due to the fair. Treasurer's Report: Ron stated that Jo Cornelius resigned as treasurer this morning.. Naomi Carlson volunteered to step in until we find someone permanent to fill the position. Due to the absence of Ms. Cornelius, we do not have a current financial statement at this time. Membership Director's Report: Maggie Robson reported: There are 946 individual RASCAL members. We have two new members this month and 48 renewed members. She asked about RCC 4th and H Street receiving applications for membership. Due to new people there it is unsure if they are aware this is a procedure. Some new applicants have complained about the confusion. RCC will be advised. Education Director's Report: Judy Engel stated she will not be the education director when the next board members are chosen as she will be too busy. She has a lot of responsibilities. Communications Director's Report: Galen Garretson talked about the membership and Smart Wire. He is still working on this project. Vice President's Report: Bob Booth was not present. President's Report: Ron Willing reported: we need to find more topics to give to Ken Mitchell for our weekly presentations. We want them to be computer related. He does not intend to be our president for the next election of officers. We need to get an election nominating committee organized. Usually the president, one other officer and two club members. The meeting was adjourned at 11:50 a.m.
