The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of Rogue Area Senior Computer Assistance League was held on April 14, 2009 at the Josephine County Fairgrounds Floral Building, Grants Pass, Oregon. The following board members were present: President Ron Willing, Secretary Velma Gustafson, Treasurer Jo Cornelius, and Communications Director Galen Garretson. Secretary's Report: Velma Gustafson reported: The minutes of the March 2009 Board of Directors meeting were approved and placed on the RASCAL website. Treasurer's Report: Jo Cornelius reported: Our bank account has increased over twenty five hundred dollars over last year. Our membership is up over 30.6 %. We have classes for RCC for the last three months up 36 %. She checked all over for a higher rate on the CDs and could not come up with a better rate than we have been getting at Evergreen Bank, so she let it roll over. We are getting 1% for the amount of money we have to invest. For a better rate one has to invest $100,000.00. Membership Director's Report: Maggie Robson was not present. Ron read her report. Total households is 771; 943 members, 39 new members in March, 43 renewed members. We have 15 more members this year than last. Education Director's Report: Judy Engel was at jury duty. Communications Director's Report: Galen asked: If he could have a list of members that are deleted and he will inform Kevin. Vice President's Report: Bob Booth not present. President's Report: Ron Willing had no report. Social Director's Report: Jeannette Daily reported: The park rental for our picnic has gone up from $262.00 to $312.00. There is a $200.00 refundable cleaning deposit. She showed menus from E and I, our former caterer and discussed a menu from another potential caterer who charged $10.00 for less food than E and I. It was decided to have E and I again this year. The menu will be $12.00 each. The club will charge the members $8.00 per person including their guests. The members pay their own parking fee charged by the park. The club will subsidize $4.00 for each ticket sold. Ron will announce the salads available and the choice of ribs or chicken at the next meeting and give them the choice by vote. The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 p.m.
