Greeting Card FAQs - by Jane Frincke

Q: When I hide the boundaries of the text box I'm using to create a greeting card, how do I find the edges of the text box?

A: Hover your mouse over the area where the text box should be. When the mouse pointer turns into a four-sided arrow, left click. The boundaries of the text box will show as a mesh-like box.

Q: How do I resize a text box?

A: With the boundaries of the text box showing, you can resize the text box to make it wider, taller or proportionately larger or smaller. If you want to make the box wider, hover over the small square on the side edge of the text box boundary until the mouse pointer turns into a double-sided arrow. Drag (hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse) the side edge of the box out with the double-sided arrow. To make the box taller, hover over the small square on the upper or lower edge until the pointer becomes a double-sided arrow and drag up or down. To make the box larger or smaller but maintain its proportion, hold down the Shift key and drag in or out with the diagonal double-sided arrow at any of the four corners.

Q: How do I move a text box?

A: With the text box boundaries showing, move the mouse around until a four-sided arrow appears. Holding down the left mouse button, drag and drop the text box to wherever you want to place it.

Q: Where do I purchase supplies to make greeting cards (such as paper, card stock, decorative-edged scissors and other implements)?

A: Tools such as decorative-edged scissors, punches, bone folders, paper cutters and embellishments can be purchased at big box stores, craft stores or scrapbooking stores. The local scrapbooking stores are the best source for cardstock and decorative paper.
